Alpine Roads is run by a family with deep British and Austrian roots, united by a lifelong connection to motorcycling and the mountains.
We combine the structure and precision of Austrian riding culture with the spirit of British adventure — a blend that shapes how we plan, how we ride and how we host our tours.
For more than three decades, we have explored the Austrian Alps in depth, riding and driving these roads year after year. We know the region not as occasional visitors, but through lived experience — understanding how roads flow, how seasons shift, and how small timing decisions can transform a riding day.
Having travelled between the UK and Austria countless times, we developed a clear view of how the Alps are best experienced: not rushed, not compressed, and not reduced to a checklist of famous names — but structured, progressive and genuinely enjoyable.
Alpine Roads grew from that conviction.
In 2026, Alpine Roads began working in partnership with Ducati Bournemouth to create exclusive Ducati-aligned Alpine touring experiences, extending the ownership journey beyond the showroom into the mountains themselves.
While we collaborate selectively with premium partners, Alpine Roads remains proudly independent and continues to welcome riders of all motorcycle brands across our wider tour programme.
While the French Alps are well known, many experienced riders quietly say the Austrian Alps offer some of the most enjoyable riding in Europe.
Smooth mountain passes, quieter roads and spectacular scenery make it a destination riders often discover later — and rarely forget.

Based in the Austrian Alps – one of Europe’s best motorcycle riding regions. From our alpine base in Carinthia we ride legendary roads including the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, Nockalmstraße and routes into the Italian Dolomites and Slovenia.
Alpine Roads exists for experienced riders who want the Alps to feel like a holiday as well as a ride.
Our tours combine deep local knowledge, a journey-and-base structure, progressive riding and full vehicle support to create an alpine experience that feels relaxed without losing variety — structured without feeling rigid.
We ride iconic mountain passes, but we allow time to experience them properly — stopping where the views deserve it, taking unhurried breaks, and finishing days early enough to enjoy where we are staying.
The result is riding that feels complete rather than compressed.
Rather than packing and moving every morning, we separate travel days from alpine riding days. Carefully chosen overnight stops provide a sense of journey before settling into a fixed alpine base for several full riding days.
This removes daily packing, reduces fatigue and allows routes to be shaped around conditions rather than obligation.
From this base in Bad Kleinkirchheim, riders enjoy over 2,000 km of incredible alpine roads within easy reach. Base camp rides outs explore both the Italian Carnic Alps & Dolomites and the Slovenian Julian Alps and Karawanks.
Alpine Roads is structured to work naturally for both riders and pillions.
While riders explore high-alpine loops, partners have genuine choice — thermal spas, lakes, cafés, mountain lifts or lighter riding days. The fixed base and support vehicle make this flexibility practical rather than theoretical.
It becomes a holiday within a holiday — shared riding when it suits, independent time when it’s wanted.
Behind the scenes, the details are managed with care. A discreet support van carries luggage and logistics. Group sizes are intentionally limited. Routes are curated with deep regional knowledge.
The result is a personal, flexible and unhurried alpine journey — one that adapts to the people on it, not the other way around.
Ride. Relax. Explore.
Structured for great roads. Designed for real holidays.
The Alpine Roads logo was designed to reflect both the landscape we ride in and the philosophy behind the tours.
At its centre sits a triangular mountain form containing three stylised peaks. These represent the three Alpine regions that define the Alpine Roads riding area: the Austrian Alps, the Slovenian Julian and Karawanken ranges, and the Italian Carnic Alps and Dolomites.
The outer triangular shape forms a subtle shield, symbolising the structured and supportive environment we aim to create for riders. Alpine riding should feel adventurous and inspiring, but also organised, considered and safe.
Positioned between these mountain ranges, our base in Bad Kleinkirchheim allows riders to explore a remarkable variety of Alpine landscapes while always returning to the comfort and familiarity of the same base each evening.
In this way the logo reflects the essence of Alpine Roads itself —
a meeting point of mountains, countries and riding experiences.
