Alpine Roads is an independent premium alpine motorcycle touring experience built around a journey-and-base structure, based in the Austrian Alps near some of the finest riding roads in Europe.
Carefully chosen travel days deliver a genuine sense of movement, before settling into a fixed alpine base for several full riding days. This allows riders to enjoy flowing mountain roads at a calm, confident pace — without daily packing or cumulative fatigue.
From our base in the Austrian Alps, riders explore spectacular alpine loops including legendary roads such as the Grossglockner High Alpine Road and the Nockalmstraße, along with routes that reach into the Italian Dolomites, Slovenian Karawanks and surrounding mountain regions.
The result is an alpine motorcycle tour that feels relaxed without losing variety, structured without feeling rigid, and immersive without becoming exhausting.

UK-founded. Based in the Austrian Alps – one of Europe’s best motorcycle riding regions.
Trusted by riders across the UK and Europe.

Our mission is simple: to give riders a genuinely enjoyable Alpine adventure that still feels like a holiday. We base our tours in one high-quality Carinthian resort so you can unpack once, settle in and enjoy the mountains at your own pace. Ride the high passes when you want, or take a proper rest day by the lake, in the spa or exploring beautiful alpine towns.
On base-camp days riders have the flexibility to shape the experience around their mood and energy. Chase the dramatic high alpine passes, head out on relaxed lake and valley loops, or simply enjoy the mountains away from the bike.
Routes can be ridden with the Alpine Roads group and guide, or independently using GPX navigation for those who prefer a quieter solo ride.
Alpine Roads is designed for experienced road riders who value flow, judgement and enjoyment over pace or pass-ticking.
Couples, solo riders and small mixed groups all fit naturally into the rhythm of the tour.
It’s a holiday within a holiday — with world-class alpine roads whenever you want them.

Based in the Austrian Alps near the legendary Grossglockner High Alpine Road.
Alpine Roads offers a more considered way to experience the Alps.
Our tours are built around the Austrian Alps — a region many experienced riders quietly say offers some of the finest motorcycle roads in Europe.
Smooth alpine passes, spectacular scenery and quieter mountain roads combine to create riding that feels effortless and rewarding.
Rather than simply riding from hotel to hotel, Alpine Roads is designed around a structure that makes the entire experience more relaxed, flexible and enjoyable.
Our approach combines deep local knowledge of the Austrian Alps, a journey-and-base structure, progressive riding and full vehicle support to create an alpine motorcycle tour that feels relaxed without losing variety, structured without feeling rigid.
Instead of changing hotels every night or chasing long mileage, we separate travel days from alpine riding days. Carefully chosen overnight stops deliver a genuine sense of journey before settling into a fixed alpine base for several full riding days.
Mid-tour we settle into our alpine base in Bad Kleinkirchheim in southern Austria, perfectly positioned between the Hohe Tauern mountains, the Nockberge range and the Slovenian and Italian borders.
From here riders can experience some of the finest alpine roads in Europe, including the Grossglockner High Alpine Road, Nockalmstraße and routes into the Slovenian Karawanken mountains and Italian Dolomites.
From that base, each day offers choice:
Because there is no daily packing and no pressure to reach the next hotel, routes can be shaped around enjoyment, weather and energy rather than obligation.
The discreet support van carries luggage and logistics, keeping bikes light and days flexible. The riding rhythm is progressive and pressure-free, designed to feel confident and sociable rather than competitive.
You stay in hand-picked alpine hotels chosen for comfort, character and location — places you would happily return to independently, with genuine Austrian hospitality and evenings that are as enjoyable as the ride itself.
For pillions, the Austrian Alps offer real freedom: lakes, thermal spas, mountain lifts, cafés and beautiful alpine villages within easy reach of the base.
The structure makes this flexibility practical rather than theoretical. It becomes a holiday within a holiday — shared riding when it suits, independent downtime when it’s wanted, and no fatigue-driven compromise.
Alpine Roads is designed to work naturally for couples, solo riders and small groups alike. With limited group sizes, curated routes and deep regional knowledge, every journey feels personal, flexible and unhurried.

Ride. Relax. Explore.
Progressive Alpine touring
Personally hosted and professionally structured.
Riding on Alpine Roads follows a progressive, pressure-free structure designed to feel confident and sociable rather than rigid or competitive.
Alpine Roads tours are designed so riders can enjoy the Alps together, with clear structure and the freedom to ride at their own pace.
Each day starts with a relaxed briefing to outline the route and options. We ride with a designated lead rider at the front and a rear rider (often called Tail-End Charlie), creating a natural framework for the day rather than a rigid convoy.
Every rider receives the GPX route, so you always know where you’re going. Most riders naturally ride together between stops, while others choose to ride a little quicker or slower, or take optional loops before rejoining the group. Both approaches are fully supported and you remain in charge of your own bike and rider safety.
We regroup at planned stops rather than constantly, there’s always support within the group, and no one is rushed or left behind. The result is riding that feels calm, flexible and sociable — designed to feel like a holiday, not a convoy or endurance exercise.

Ride every day, alternate days, or enjoy full rest days. The structure supports choice rather than obligation.

Lakes, spas, cafés, mountain lifts and relaxed riding options — partners are part of the experience, not an afterthought.

Unpack once. Settle in. Enjoy several full riding days without daily repacking.
Maximum eight riders with dedicated vehicle support for luggage and logistics.
We welcome the opportunity to speak with riders face to face.
Alpine Roads is UK-founded and operates seasonally from our Austrian base during the touring months. Throughout the year, we regularly meet riders in the UK at events and by appointment.
In partnership with Ducati Bournemouth, we are also pleased to discuss selected departures within the dealership.
All bookings and live availability are managed online for clarity and consistency, but we believe great tours begin with good conversations.
